Amy Belle Rice

Amy Belle Rice founded Woodruff’s Art Center in 1989 with her then husband and partner John Woodruff. Together they grew the business from a tiny start-up to a  multi-faceted business specializing in custom framing, art supplies and space to exhibit their artwork. When Amy took sole proprietorship in 2000, she further expanded the business to include a professional gallery, showcasing not just her own and John's art, but featuring the work of many prominent local artists. Throughout the years, Amy always found time to balance her business pursuits with her own development as an artist. Sought after as a painter of house portraits early on, Amy found she preferred working from subject matter that was more personal. She finds inspiration in the landscape of her home on Cape Cod, painting its unique scenery in watercolor and acrylic. A life-long animal lover; wild creatures, farm animals and beloved pets all have been her muses at one time or another. After selling Woodruff’s in 2022, Amy is enjoying having more time to devote to her art, along with her other pursuits of traveling and tennis.
