Paint along with renowned local artist, Betsy Payne Cook, as she guides you, step-by-step,  in creating your own pastel painting!
 

    In this Pastel Paint-Along workshop, you will create this seasonal image of a cardinal, while learning the wonderfully versatile medium of pastel.  Pastels come in various degrees of softness, and students will learn different techniques to create a variety of textures and strokes. Because they are multi-layered, artworks created with pastels can have the final appearance of an oil painting, hence the term pastel painting.

     Betsy will share tips for basic drawing along with pastel techniques. She will give explicit instructions, but also encourage students to make personal choices as they complete their painting along with her.
 

     All materials are included, however students may bring their own sketchbook and pastels if they wish. Students are encouraged to bring an apron or smock, as pastels can be messy!
 

No experience necessary- beginners are welcome!
